What to bring:

The weather near the Rocky Mountains proves to be very unpredictable, so for anyone doing activities be prepared for everything from hail to blazing sun no matter what time of the year!

The list below will help you to pack the equipment needed to ensure you a wonderful stay:

• Old warm clothing
  When doing activities avoid wearing denim (blue jeans) / tracksuits or fleece material garments are best. Some of the activities can be quite mucky so make sure you bring old clothes. Also because of the campfire smoke smell.
• Rain jacket & trousers
  We strongly recommend you beg or borrow some rain gear for your trip.
• Woolly Hat
  80% of heat loss is through your head so keep it covered.
• Footwear
  Ideally, if you have a pair of runners or walking boots, it would be great. However, runners will do just as well. Two pair would be best ; one to keep dry and one to get wet.
• Evening time wear
  You will need a dry set of clothes to change into in the evening and, yes, another pair of shoes!
• Warm woolly socks
  Not essential, but a great luxury when your feet are wet and cold.
• Towels
  A towel is provided in the cabins and the Powder Creek Rooms, but not in the hostel . Extra towels available at an additional fee.
• Plastic bags
  Please bring plastic bags with you. By the end of your stay you may have quite a lot wet clothes you will not want to put into your luggage.
• Small personal first aid kit
  Blue Lake has its own First Aid station, but we recommend bringing some basic supplies like band-aids and insect repellent. Please remember you are about 25 minutes away from the nearest hospital in Hinton.
• Music.   Bring your most favorite instrument: Guitar, flute, drum........
